*ASU 31, USC 16: Two of the nation’s most underachieving teams showed why their combined 10-6 record is not a fluke.
*RACHAAD WHITE IS ONE OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL’S BEST RUNNING BACKS: He was easily the best player on the field, rushing 28 times for 202 yards and three touchdowns PLUS two catches for 35 yards.
*JALEN DANIELS HAS REGRESSED: Daniels was intercepted twice more, both on badly thrown passes, and now has 7 touchdown passes and seven interceptions this season. Without NFL caliber wide receivers for the first time in his career, Daniels is no better than a slightly above average college quarterback.
*CHASE LUCAS HAD AN IMPRESSIVE BOUNCE BACK GAME: The sixth-year senior was one of multiple ASU players who were awful during last week’s embarrassing homecoming game performance against Washington State. Against USC, Lucas delivered a pick and some physical tackling.
*USC REMAINS HORRIBLY COACHED: Interim coach Donte Williams replaced the fired Clay Helton on September 13. Eight games later, the Trojans remain a collection of mismanaged talent.
*VALLEY PRODUCT KEDON SLOVIS IS NOT USC’S BEST QUARTERBACK: The alternating quarterback plan is absurd. There is no question that freshman Jaxon Dart is more difficult to defend than Slovis. ASU’s defense, no doubt, much preferred it when Slovis was on the field.
