A SIX PACK OF COLLEGE BASKETBALL KNOWLEDGE

BOTTOMLINE
*THE  BOBBY HURLEY HATERS NEED TO CALM DOWN: After Wednesday’s inexplicable meltdown that ended the season, ASU is 108-100 with Hurley, including 60-69 against Pac 12 opponents. But, the situation is better than it was when he succeeded Herb Sendek. By comparison, the football program is not better now than it was when Herm Edwards replaced Todd Graham.
*THE UA WILL NEED TO PLAY BETTER: The Wildcats had to make plays at both ends to outlast Stanford which played its best game of the season. Friday night, Tommy Lloyd’s squad gets the rematch it wanted against Colorado.
*BAYLOR’S LOSS TO OKLAHOMA COULD BE GOOD FOR THE UA: One thing the UA would prefer to avoid is playing a South Regional final against Baylor at San Antonio.
*UCLA IS GETTING HEALTHY: The Bruins had all their players in the Thursday win over Washington State, including Johnny Juzang whose mobility seems much better after missing time with hip and leg injuries.
*TEXAS AND MICHIGAN WERE PRE-SEASON TOP 10 TEAMS: Instead, both have underperformed much of the season, including Thursday when both lost in the conference tournament opener.
*HEARD THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE: Florida lost its SEC Tournament opener amid speculation coach Mike White is leaving for his alma mater Mississippi.
