NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME KNOWLEDGE

(SORRY, CONNECTIONS ISSUES ON MONDAY NIGHT)
*BAYLOR 86, GONZAGA 70: Baylor was never challenged after jumping out to 9-0 and 29-10 leads … STATISTICALLY SPEAKING – Baylor was +15 in points behind the arc, +16 in rebounding, +11 in offensive rebounding, +5 in turnovers, +4 in steals and +2 in blocked shots. Also, in six tournament games, Baylor’s defense scored 114 points off turnovers (according to CBS Sports Network). On the other side, Gonzaga’s season-long defensive metrics were exposed during the two Final Four games, allowing 90 and 96 points … LAS VEGAS CLOSING LINE – Gonzaga 4½ (159) … THE BOTTOM LINE – Baylor’s physicality and athleticism were superior against a Gonzaga team that seemed mentally and physically spent after its top five players played at least 39 minutes in Saturday’s emotional double-overtime victory over UCLA.
