PHOENIX— The Arizona Diamondbacks unveiled new jerseys Thursday night at Chase Field in front of fans using players as models.

The Dbacks introduced eight different options that include the reintroduction of the original purple and teal, a bold grey color for road games, plus a new white look for home games.

The process to design these new jerseys took two years that included input from a variety of people with the ultimate idea of transforming baseball uniforms to inspire a youth movement.

“This is an extremely proud and exciting time for our franchise,” said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall. “The Arizona Diamondbacks have always been focused on innovation and it is time for us to take that step forward on behalf of Major League Baseball and continue the evolution of our uniforms. This process began over two years ago and has involved our players, coaches, fans, partners at MLB, Majestic, New Era, Nike and an extremely talented in-house design staff. The end result is an incredible product that will appeal to all our fans, but in particular the youth movement we so desire in baseball.”

Dbacks pitcher Daniel Hudson took to twitter to offer his thoughts on wearing the new uniforms:
