TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona Cardinals secondary is already down safety Rashad Johnson, who signed with the Tennessee Titans. It’s possible that they could lose another of the “Savages” in cornerback Jerraud Powers, who’s reportedly meeting with the New York Giants on Thursday.

NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport is hearing that Powers trip to New York might not be his last.

Powers – a seven-year NFL veteran – spent the first four years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted him in the third round (92nd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Powers was with Bruce Arians in Indianapolis during the 2012 season, when Arians was the offensive coordinator/interim head coach. Once Arians became Cardinals head coach, he brought Powers to Arizona on a three-year deal.
In his three years in Arizona, Powers played in 45 games (39 starts), and had 137 tackles, two sacks, five interceptions, 50 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries (one for touchdown) and three special teams tackles.
