Dave “Rooster” Bierstein is bringing his energetic and unique style to KDUS AM 1060 with his show “The Sports Zoo”. Rooster has returned back to the Phoenix area where he previously co-hosted shows such as “College Football Blitz”, “Inside the Preps”, and “The Sports Edge”. After moving back east to get his communication degree from Kean University where he graduated summa cum laude, Rooster’s passion for adventure, new experiences, and sports led him to a year-long journey across the country to visit 48 states in 52 weeks.

During this time, Rooster met many interesting people including the President of the United States, Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson, OKC Thunder GM Sam Presti, ASU alum, and Cincinnati Bengal Vontaze Burfict, and former UFC champ Jon “Bones” Jones just to a name a few. He attended countless sporting events and stadiums where he not only saw the game but also took pictures with every mascot he encountered! Rooster also found time to do charity work in many of the states he visited. And somewhere along the way, he became part of the Guinness Book of World Records for being one of 1000‘s people dressed up as Santa Claus to run in a 5K (he was the only one dressed as Rooster Claus Though). His year-long adventure was blogged daily complete with 1000’s pictures for his many friends, family, and fans to enjoy.

Being a former athlete (Al Bundy style)… “I hit 4 home runs in a Little World Series Game over a 200 ft fence” and growing up in the tri-state area where sports talk radio was the lifeline of true fans, Rooster realized early on that one of his passions was to entertain and inform others through his unfiltered comedic approach to the world of sports. Still, 30+ years later, Rooster’s fire for sports and entertainment is as strong as ever, get ready Arizona… Rooster’s back!

Why Am I called the Rooster, I’m sure you’re still asking??? Well… tune in Monday through Friday from 5:30 – 7 p.m. to find out!
