TEMPE, Ariz. — DJ Foster and Kalen Ballage met with the media after Tuesday morning’s practice. Both players probably expected better starts to the season. Ballage missed the first three games with mono and Foster has not been effective since his move to wide receiver in the off-season.
Foster spoke about staying positive despite ASU’s slow start to the season and bouncing back against No. 7 UCLA this weekend:
Ballage talked about the frustration of missing the first three games and his Facebook post that created quite a stir with fans:
Here is Ballage’s Facebook post (Some NSFW language):
“As a current Sun Devil and player, that usually keeps his mouth shut.. I’ll probably get backlash for this.. But I’m disappointed just as much as you are, but not in my teammates because we kept fighting. It’s not how I pictured my first game back. But I fought my ass off, I played every special teams all night and offense after losing 20 pounds and having a week to prepare for a solid team. And my teammates played damn hard too. Y’all think we wana get our asses kicked? And as much as you don’t think you fans are a part of this team you are. If you were real Sun Devil fans you wouldn’t walk out on us just because things get rough. Just like I don’t give up on my teammates when I’m not getting the ball or play doesn’t work as planned. I’m down for this team no matter what. And right now we don’t need fair-weather players or fans. Either you’re in or you’re out.”
